چکیده

We analyze the degree distribution’s cut-off in finite size scale-free networks. We show that the cut-off behavior with the number of vertices N is ruled by the topological constraints induced by the connectivity structure of the network. Even in the simple case of uncorrelated networks, we obtain an expression of the structural cut-off that is smaller that the natural cut-off obtained by means of extremal theory arguments. The obtained results are explicitly applied in the case of the configuration model to recover the size scaling of tadpoles and multiple edges. PACS. 89.75.-k – 87.23.Ge – 05.70.Ln

Size-dependent free vibration analysis of rectangular nanoplates with the consideration of surface effects using finite difference method

In this article, finite difference method (FDM) is used to study the size-dependent free vibration characteristics of rectangular nanoplates considering the surface stress effects. To include the surface effects in the equations, Gurtin-Murdoch continuum elasticity approach has been employed. The effects of surface properties including the surface elasticity, surface residual stress and surface...

How to calculate the main characteristics of random uncorrelated networks

We present an analytic formalism describing structural properties of random uncorrelated networks with arbitrary degree distributions. The formalism allows to calculate the main network characteristics like: the position of the phase transition at which a giant component first forms, the mean component size below the phase transition, the size of the giant component and the average path length ...

Olami-Feder-Christensen Model on different Networks

We investigate numerically the Self Organized Criticality (SOC) properties of the dissipative Olami-Feder-Christensen model on small-world and scale-free networks. We find that the small-world OFC model exhibits self-organized criticality. Indeed, in this case we observe power law behavior of earthquakes size distribution with finite size scaling for the cut-off region. In the scale-free OFC mo...

. so c - ph ] 7 A pr 2 01 5 Phase transitions for scaling of structural correlations in directed networks

Analysis of degree-degree dependencies in complex networks, and their impact on processes on networks requires null models, i.e. models that generate uncorrelated scale-free networks. Most models to date however show structural negative dependencies, caused by finite size effects. We analyze the behavior of these structural negative degree-degree dependencies, using rank based correlation measu...
